Clinic: “Arpeggios All Over the Fretboard”
Paul
Landsberg is a contemporary jazz composer and guitarist originally from Bronx,
New York. He taught for eight years at the prestigious Berklee College of Music
in Boston Massachusettes. In his twenty five years as a performing guitarist he
has performed with a variety of jazz and contemporary artists including: Roben
Ford, Ernie Watts, Kenny Wheeler, Charlie Haden, Bob Mintzer, Dave Weckel, Lew
Tabackin, Gunther Schuller, Ben E. King, the Platters, and the Drifters. Paul
currently performs with the Paul Landsberg Quartet, Desafinado, and the Spokane
Jazz Orchestra. Paul has been featured in many music festivals throughout the
Northwest including: “Sandpoint Music Fest”, “Chewelah Jazz and Blues Festival”,
“Kaslo Jazz Fest”, and Eastern Washington University’s “Jazz Dialogue 2000”.
Paul’s recent CD, “Looking In”, features his compositions with an all start
quartet. He is the author of “Hearing and Writing Music” and other guitar books.
He holds a Masters Degree from the California Institute of the Arts, Los Angels,
California. He currently makes his home in Nelson, BC with his wife and six
children and is one of the founding faculty of the Selkirk College Music and
Technology Program
